Dr, Ross graduated from the University of Maryland In College Park and the Medical School in Baltimore. He interned at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He trained for ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and of the American College of Surgeons. He was president of the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and is now a member of their executive board.
He is an associate clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and an instructor at the Wilmer Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
His areas of interests in ophthalmology are comprehensive care, glaucoma and cataract
